Hi Colin,

I think you still didnt get the last mail I sent you. A rather long one that just bounced back to me..I resent. That was sent on Gmail and bounced.. said your sever wont connect or such. Im missing all kinds of emails from that side of the world.
On the LR site question.. There is not a site in Perth yet, I was in contact with a friend on APT satellite picture subjects there, and ask him if he would take a look at LR and try it if he could.. He seemed much interested and looked for parts and such, then I never heard from him again.. Same as with Jean.. mails just died from that part of the world.. I will try to contact him again and explain the mail problem and give this forum as a means to get, or stay in contact for right now.

I think Jean doesnt know that we broke a record for LR today..At least as far as I know its a record..(correct me if Im wrong folks!) I just happened to check his P4 picture and here he is painting strikes far west of me in the western USA. I took a snap of it and also looked on StrikeStar to see if it matched up, and it did perfect.. Two storms seperated but clearly the same ones on strikestar. I thought it was an event, so I captured it and put it on a page on my server.. You can view the snaps here:

That is getting very close to being on the exact opposite side of the world from me. 17265 Km between our two stations!

Hi Jean ,

You set a new LR distance record yesterday! I believe this to be the longest contact with good results.. From Reunion to Texas with with good strikes. 17625 Km and actually further to the storms we received. Your station did the heavy lifting on this one , as its in my back yard where the storms were. I checked on a strike standard and two storms are in the exact same place and patern at the same time. Snaps of this is on my server at:

HI All,

The LR Network just made a new milestone.. With Jean on Reunion Island connecting to Colin in New Zealand, we just completed the first around the world connection for LR. Something for the history books I think? I did make snaps of this when I realized it was first.. Ive posted it at: http://www.pollenpurge.com/lr_bridging_pacific.htm so you can see the actual results of the connections over a few hours.. Colin was a sleep I think, didnt know he was making history in his sleep. :)

Regards,

Gerry
