Linear strikes - Question

Postby JohnZ » Sun Jul 17, 2011 5:27 pm

Hi, I am John from Greece (Kavala). I had setup an LR system 2 years ago, and up until now I am very satisfied from the overall result.

Although there is one issue, when a severe storm is occuring in close range from station (around 200-300km). There are some linear strikes in a theoretical line by my station position. Some examples:

Is there any way to prevent this? My gain value is around 68-70, I can't go higher because I get a huge amount of noise. Also the stations I am connected and getting a smooth sync is Daniel's and Petro's in Syros. By the way what happened to Frank's LR? Hope he gets back on soon.

We have not found a way to prevent it here in the US either. With afternoon storms everyday in Florida, me and the other Fl station get streaks all of the time. Yours don't even look that bad. One thing you can try is using some older versions of LR. But as of now I think Frank has to fix it in the programming.
