Dear All,
At the evening of 3 April I received a phone call from the wife of Frank Kooiman. She had the sad news that Frank Kooiman passed away in a hospital in the Dutch Nijmegen. He had a car crash.
No other cars were involved. He drove with his car on a straight road with high speed against a tree. There were no break tracks on the road. That day he left home early in the morning without telling where he was going. He crashed around 17h24 near the town of Well on the first of April.
I talked to Frank a week ago. He told me that he was suffering more and more from his fatigue syndrome which was bringing him down. He also had to quit his new job because of this. Because of this he had worries about his future.
He was always proud of his radar project.
I have known Frank for his love for astronomy. He was a very good practical engineer in electronics and programming. He made things possible because of his logical thinking. We had the same interests. He was a great man.
I will miss him, as we all will.
Frank will be cremated in Nijmegen on Friday 6 April.
Kind regards,
Dirk Taeymans
